Thursday, February 5th, the ladies of the NBC Chicago Street Team were the featured “divas” at Maven’s Diva Series. The Diva Series honors strong and confident women making a positive change in Chicago. I got to have some great chats with these ladies, that we have all come to love.

Seventy-four years ago last week a baby was born in Tupelo, Mississippi. Who knew that baby would grow up to be known as The King?Despite his death 32 years ago, Elvis Presley still has a large following. He’s the top earning dead celebrity. And even Thursday’s Elvis Fest birthday bash at The Original Mother’s (26 West Division St.) was reason enough for his fans to pack the joint. Michigan Avenue Magazine will finally be hitting shelves September 15, 2008. And may I say it’s about time! The highly anticipated magazine is a knock-out featuring 360-pages of celebs and star-studded contributors like Mayor Richard M. Daley, Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey and Bill Zehme.
The launch issue will be celebrated in-style on Saturday, September 20, 2008 with a red carpet extravaganza at a private location hosted by cover model Cindy Crawford, and topped off with a performance by Destiny’s Child singer Michelle Williams.
Marcus Riley of the NBC5 Street Team will be live on the scene in full effect and I’ll be there as well covering for Chicago’s hottest new gossip site GossipChicago but you’ll have to wait on the details for that one!
The Michigan Avenue Magazine private reception with Bill Maher at Enclave was the place to be at Friday night! Hot music, great drinks and the fashions were amazing! And now on to the JUICY stuff — the FASHION! TV personality and Chef Cat DeOrio was hot in Chloe, Managing editor of Michigan Ave. Lesley McKenzie looked stunning in a dark green number, wish I knew the designer?! Julie Bensmen knows her fashion in Furla Boots and Susanna Homan wore Cynthia Rowley.
New entertainment news show 24/7 Chicago was on the scene working hard getting the scoop, with host Catie Keogh and exec. producer Collen Kelly. And oh, the women! I worship Trevisn Kutti owner of G’bani who wore an outfit that made the whole room stop and look! She was fabulous! *snap, snap*
