Having been bit early by the entrepreneurial bug, Glenn Murray along with a few friends helped write, produce and release a music album at 19. After that he held various positions at some of the top corporations in America including General Electric, Leo Burnett, Sears and Discover Card. The urge to have his own business and leverage what he had learned at these companies along with his own marketing ideas never left. In 2000 Kreations Art was started to assist his parents in promoting their African art business. That venture led to a number of live events the launch of online gallery Kreationsart.com and eventually a roster of over 10 independent artists and shows across the country. In 2004 to help promote a friend who had written a book he created Authors and Artists a unique event that combines the best of independent art and literature. The event celebrated its fifth year 2008 and 220 Communications now represents not only authors and artists, but also small businesses and music artists. The Company’s online store leverages the growing list of new writers taking advantage of the marketing machine 220 is creating and now has expanded to include select independent music and DVD selections. 220 Communications produces over 20 events yearly and has held or participated in events in Indianapolis, Detroit, Milwaukee, Dallas and Memphis. 220 Communications also has produced several shows for Focustalk on WKKC radio. The company has hosted fundraisers for or donated to a number of charities including the Chicago Abused Women Coalition, The Village Foundation, and The Leukemia Lymphoma Society, Gilda's Club of Chicago and The Black Star Project and South Central Community Services. While the business takes up a lot of time, his spare time is spent reading and enjoying movies, live music, and “attending events I don’t have to work!” He is a former board member of Youth at the Crossroads and the Murphy Hill Gallery in Chicago’s Lawndale community. His goals are clear for the company its properties, and himself, I want 220 Communications to become a full circle marketing organization tailored to the arts. ”From development of marketing strategy, distribution and promotion, own the process”. Personally, I want to be a voice of support for community organizations not only in words but in deeds, I and my company will always have the “help mission” that drives us.
