It’s tea time in Chicago as bars all over the city are embracing the newest trend in cocktails: tea-flavored vodka. Jeremiah Weed brought tea back to our taste buds when he launched Jeremiah Weed Southern Style Sweet Tea Vodka earlier this year. The vodka, inspired by Weed’s grandmother, is 70 proof sweet tea flavored vodka that mixes and tastes perfectly in either iced tea or lemonade. Firefly produced the world’s first sweet tea vodka, and now hand-crafts a slew of sweet tea vodka flavors like peach and raspberry.
So join the tea party with these drinks around the city:
River North hot spot Hub51 (51 W. Hubbard) added the Hub Tea to its summer cocktail list, mixing Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea vodka, St. Germain Liqueur (a French liqueur made from elderflowers), ginger-flavored liqueur Canton, and a splash of fresh brewed iced tea.
Not far down the road, LaSalle Power Company (500 N. LaSalle) brewed up their own version with the LPC tea, keeping things simple with lemonade and Sweet Tea vodka.
Looking for a sweet deal? Try Fizz (3220 N. Lincoln) for $4 Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea vodka lemonades on Sundays, or try the Other Side (2436 N. Clark) for $4 Sweet Tea Vodka lemonades all summer long!
