Shreyas Shah, NBC Chicago Street Team;
The food and drink is coming quick, so I’m going to give short, quick reviews of all the dishes:
PANN AM TOMAT
Kind of like their version of bruchetta, the arbequina Spanish olive oil they drizzle is a-may-zing, grassy, fruity, and a little bitter…delicious.
CANA DE CABRA
A beautiful aged goat cheese, the cana de cabra is soft, luscious, and beautifully paired with a sweet balsamic and crisp apple.
I was just served some little fried peppers with some kind of creamy sauce. They are mild but very flavorful, though the chef tells us that 1 out of every 10 are fiery hot. I hope to get that 1.
This is toast with a pine nut and raisin spread accompanied by an assortment of vegetables. The spread was flavorful and sweet, but the dish was underseasoned, both the spread and the vegetables were lacking in salt.
TRUITA DE PATATA CON ESPINACAS
The flavor of the spinach didn’t really come through, but the saffron aioli was wonderful without being too aggressive. A nice take on a a tapas classic.
CEREZA DE VERANO
Wonderful cocktail though I don’t know how I feel about Patron branded vodka. The cherries and the hibiscus and lavendar are sublime together. I’m getting tipsy.
