This Friday, May 8, I’m going to be 39 years old. I don’t want any presents. I don’t even care if I get cake and ice cream. All I really really want for my birthday is to raise $20,000 for pediatric cancer research.
On June 22 I’ll be heading to Tanzania, Africa with Endure To Cure founder Jason Sissel to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. For me, this climb represents the struggle two of my grandparents endured before they died from cancer. One of them, my grandmother, shared the same birthday as me. She would have been 84 this Friday.
Please help me celebrate my birthday, my grandmother’s birthday, my grandparents’ lives, and all the lives of other cancer victims, survivors, and their loved ones. Donate a little or donate a lot and help spread the word. If 20,000 people each donated one dollar, well…
Because it’s a “virtual” birthday party, there do have to be presents – for you! I’m going to pick four random people who donate to bring a guest on a special Lake Michigan sunset cruise on June 7. We’ll enjoy 3 hours with a generous buffet, beer, wine and soda on the Gypsy Spirit. If you would like to be entered into the drawing, email me to let me know.
Please, donate today and tell everyone you know! We can do this!
