The first Chicago New Media Summit is going on as I type. I was able to enjoy Day 1 in its entirety, but alas, other projects have me in the office today catching up. Street Team chief, Marcus Riley, was there for the after party and I’m sure you’ll see some video footage of the festivities.
I took a series of pictures, video and notes during Day 1. I think the effort was terrific, but the definition of ‘new media’ can be so broad, I would hope that folks don’t associate ‘new media’ with video and/or broadcast only.
So what was confirmed at yesterday’s 18 minute sessions, chatter and evening fun? Chicago is chock full of techies, video gurus, user experience pros, digital artists, start-ups, bloggers and yes, I’ll say it – nerds. 🙂
We had so much fun laughing, talking, sharing ideas and getting along in a crazy family sort of way that I didn’t want to leave the patio of the MCA.
Another reason why I don’t plan on leaving this town any time soon…and confirmation that I’m proud to call myself a NERD.
