The Poets Are Coming! EarCandy Celebrates Nine Years of Spoken Word Performances

Who’s Coming? The Poets Are Coming!!
That’s the call and response throughout an EarCandy show …The poetry troupe has been giving that call and response at least twice a month in Chicago for the past nine years. This Saturday, the team of spoken word artists celebrate their anniversary at Dance (also known as Big City Swing) 1012 West Randolph in the West Loop. The celebration starts at 9PM and will feature a number of local poets and live music by the band Urban Groove. EarCandy is the longest running open mic set in the Midwest and the creative talents of lead poets Miles and Passion show no sign of letting up. If you like spoken word or if you are interested in learning more about the art, EarCandy this Saturday is the place to be. Admission to the celebration is $10 ($5 if you are a poet and want to perform). Food, drink and an all out good time will be had by all but you better get there early, space is limited and every anniversary show has sold out in past years.
