Band Interview: The Bravery

There are only a few bands that are able to tackle a different sound with each album and keep pleasing their fans without alienating them. Linkin Park is a good example. Another one is The Bravery. Ironically, both Linkin Park and The Bravery headline the Projekt Revolution Tour this year along with the amazingly sexy & talented Chris Cornell.

But back to The Bravery. Their music has been featured on so many TV shows it’s hard to keep track: The Hills, Friday Night Lights, Grey’s Anatomy, Gossip Girl, Moonlight, Las Vegas, Rescue Me and Reaper. Plus, their song “Believe” is heard on two new video games: “Madden 08″ and X-Box’s “Game With Fame”. And that song is definitely one my favorites to play when I’m on the air at 101.9 WTMX!

The Bravery will play a show at The Metro this Friday night (April 19) with Fiction Plane (that’s the band that opened for The Police last summer and includes Sting‘s son Joe Sumner). I spoke with The Bravery lead guitarist/backing vocalist Mike Z for The Chicago Music Guide. You’ll notice that their recent surge in popularity hasn’t affected them much:
