I just got off the phone with Warren DeMartini, lead guitar – RATT. He is performing at the House of Blues tonight with his RATT mates with support from the band Extreme. Showtime is 9:00. We were discussing what to do after the show. There is the chance that I’ll be able to lead Warren and some others to Kingston Mines to see Chicago’s very own Vance ‘Guitar’ Kelly. I really want to see these two guitar wizards meet. Perhaps, as Vance Kelly often does, there may be a guitar duel late night in Lincoln Park? The only thing I’m promising is that Vance Kelly and the Backstreet Blues band will be headlining Kingston Mines both tonight and tomorrow night. No other city other than New York can offer this type of variety and excitement for an evening. My Home Town!
