Hungry Z, NBC5 Street Team
Don Shula was the coach of the Miami Dolphins for many years, but don’t be fooled, this is no sports bar. Dim lighting, white table cloth’s, and a double server approach make Shula’s much more. One server tells you all about the food and the other takes your order.
Start your night with their signature appetizer, bbq bacon wrapped shrimp. The big and juicey shrimp shrimp are covered in bbq sauce, stuffed with rosemary, and wrapped in bacon. Honestly you could wrap a truck tire in bacon and bbq sauce and it would taste good! Another winning starter is the beef steak tomato and gorgonzola salad. Big slices of tomato rest on top of field greens, covered in balsamic vinegar, and gorgonzola cheese.
Steaks are the focus here, and they do both ends of the steak world proud. If you’re craving something less imposing, they’ve got you covered with a fillet so tender you can practically cut it with a fork. Nice mellow flavor and cooked to perfection. If you wanna go big, choose the 22 oz Cowboy steak. A bone in ribeye with an excellent crust outside and very juicy on the inside. If you enjoy big beefy flavor then this is the one for you.
Mmmm, a great dessert choice is the molten lava cake. Warm chocolate cake filled with a river of warm chocolate ganash. It’s accompanied with vanilla ice cream and homemade whipped cream. Be warned that you might need extra ice cream to help cut through all that chocolate.
Dinner for two will run about $200. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely. Overall “Shula’s” proved to have excellent food and service to match. You pay a lot, but get a lot in return. Definitely worth a trip.
