This weekend marks the start of the Crosstown Classic between the Chicago White Sox and the Cubs and I could not be more excited. As a baseball enthusiast, the rivalry between these two teams is exhilarating, and watching the White Sox beat the Cubs only adds to my enjoyment. With only a couple days to prepare, here are some tips to get you bleeding red, white and blue or black and white by Friday.
*Dig up your Super fan plaque from 2 years ago out of the attic. There’s no shame in admitting who the REAL fan is around here.
*Invite the girls over and rate the baseball players on a scale of 1-10 based on the level of hotness. Categories can include legs, butt and arms with extra points going towards home runs or base hits. Now you can properly identify the players when it comes to game time!
*Get in touch with your Martha Stewart side and bake Cub cookies or White Sox brownies. The men will appreciate your enthusiasm and the women will be happy to have something to chow down on while looking at Derrick Lee’s … swing.
*Wear your favorite team’s undergarments leading up to the first series game to ensure a win. You can never be too superstitiouswhen it comes to baseball.
*Buy as many Sox or Cubs T-shirts as possible. This way you can have something new to say every inning!
*Baseball requires a lot of beverages so it’s wise to make your purchases ahead of time. Luckily, there are enough grocery stores and specialty stores within a 5 mile radius to do so.
*Practice your best announcer voice for the game. If the real announcers miss anything, you’ll be able to fill in the gaps!
*Tickets are expensive, so start the “I need money to go to a Cub vs. Sox game” fund now.People will appreciate the fact that it’s going toward a good cause.
